That's why I love musculoskeletal medicine! It is not uncommon that I will see a patient with “hip pain” and the problem is in the sacroiliac joint. Or I will see someone with pain radiating down their leg all the way to their foot and their problem is a ligament in the low back connecting the spine to the pelvis. It is this kind of detective work that excites me and keeps me digging for more.
I have been blessed and fortunate to work with some of the world’s best in my field and now I am able to travel nationally and internationally to teach the things that I have learned. Whether it’s teaching a patient about what it’s going to require to get better, or teaching a colleague a new interventional technique, it all keeps me going and wanting to learn more.
